Abandonware, sort of. Evernote folded Skitch into its Evernote software. v2.9 was the last solo version. It is NOT compatible with macOS Tahoe, crashing on startup.

I've been a Skitch user since plasq's 1.0b5 release in 2008. plasq became Skitch Inc. in 2010, and Evernote acquired Skitch a year later.
Although I'm VERY disappointed Evernote abandoned Skitch after the 2.9 release on 22 Jul 20, I'm pleased it's still alive and well on my Mac mini M2 Pro running macOS Sequoia 15.3.1.
What prompted this 5-star belated review is my frustration with the user experience (UX) of Shottr 1.8.1. I'm back with Skitch as long as it keeps running strong.

This was a magnificent app... right up until Evernote acquired it. Crazy as it sounds, it turned into pure, useless garbage within a month. Nothing has changed since then—it's still buggy and limited by Evernote, who hasn't done anything to improve the app, or even update the UI to look like a modern app, since the day they got their hands on it.
Like many others, I switched to Monosnap, which doesn't require an account (unless you want to use the "library/manager" feature, and allows you to upload to your own server if you choose.
